At the Home for the Holidays event, I was given a tour of the inspiration boards that the designers used to create the Spring 2010 home decor lines. The designers literally travel all over the world collecting items to use as inspiration; this board, a sort of romantic throwback to the ’30s and ’40s, was my favorite (it inspired the new Jaclyn Smith collection).

This morning, I attended the Kmart/Sears Home for the Holidays event at Tribeca Skyline Studios and got to meet Art Smith, one of Oprah’s favorite chefs and author of Back to the Family (among other cookbooks). He told hilarious stories about going on a safari with his 74-year-old mother and was generally super, super sweet.

One of the interiors from Alessandra Branca’s New Classic Interiors. Mint green is my favorite color, as you may know, and to me, this bathroom is just about perfect. This picture makes me pine for a bathtub big enough to actually sit in (ours most certainly isn’t).

On the 7th Floor of Bergdorf’s with the lovely Julia, who encouraged me to sample the delicious fig-prosciutto-almond wraps being passed around (thank you, Julia). I knew absolutely no one at the event walking in, but had so much fun hanging out with her that I lost track of time and was late meeting Kendrick for dinner.

My crazy eyes courtesy of the red-eye retouch tool in iPhoto; I spared Julia once I saw how it made me look.

As I made my way through the lobby at Bergdorf’s on my way to the book signing, these Ippolita rose gold and quartz bracelets just about gave me whiplash. One day, this one will be mine.
