Sneak Peek: DKNY x Ramshackle Glam

Behind-the-scenes styling the @dkny lookbook. #dknybyjordanreid

Well, this is a dream come true: on Friday I'll be styling DKNY's lookbook for Bloomingdale's, and working with the team on creating a dedicated microsite that I can't wait to show you (it'll be out in early May).

I'll post more behind-the-scenes photos after Friday's shoot, but in the meantime wanted to share this sneak peek of my favorite look: a sweet and summery white dress paired with a textured purse and one seriously cool hat.

Weekend Snapshots

On Saturday we met a few of our friends at the park for what theoretically sounded like a great idea: an Easter Egg Hunt.

This photo should give you a general idea of approximately how well our son received the idea of charging across a lawn accompanied by a throng of shrieking children who must get ALL THE EGGS.

How To Move On From The Past When It’s Right There In Front Of You

Q. Dear Jordan,

I have a question that I feel like you might be able to relate to.

I fell in love with [a famous musician]. Without going into telling details, I helped shape his now incredibly successful and lucrative career.

We've lost touch and he's only gotten more successful. He has children now, and I am a relatively new mother. Mutual friends keep me informed of the goings-on but it only takes the laziest of Google searches to see that he's still traveling the world and making music.

Jelly Sandals For Spring

Presenting: the first of the three videos I shot for Better TV in Miami last month, featuring a Lilly Pulitzer silk tunic and a pair of I-can't-believe-they're-Crocs jellies (they're available in a bunch of different colors - I like pink and black the best - for $29.99).

More pictures of the look are here.

How-To: Easy Travel Hair

Q. Hey Jordan!

I am traveling to Europe and I’d like to leave the hairdryer, curling iron, and straightener at home. In an ideal world I’d hop out of the shower and 2 hours of air drying later I’d have some sexy tousled waves. Unfortunately I’ve been blessed with not quite straight, not quite curly (but always frizzy) medium-long hair.

Do you have any tips/tricks/or products you’d be willing to share for those of us looking for (super) low maintenance (but still cute) style?

Thanks!

Lust & Less: Silver Pumps

Oh mah goodness, do I ever love those Jimmy Choo Anouk pumps. So does everyone else, apparently, because they're completely sold out everywhere on the planet (at least in the silver color, although I wouldn't throw the black or red ones out of bed, either). They are every single thing that I love in footwear right now: a pointy closed-toe pump with a slender heel in a metallic color.

They're also way, way too expensive. And, sure, last week I tried to convince myself that it's occasionally (like once-in-a-decade occasionally) OK to spend that kind of money on a shoe...but...I can't do it. It goes back to college, you see: for my birthday senior year, my boyfriend bought me a pair of strappy gold Manolos (I know, but trust me, this was an unusual occurrence), and I was obviously incredibly excited, so I wore them out on graduation night...

and it poured.

And I got caught in the rain, and they were more or less ruined. And that was so miserable that I'm not eager to repeat the experience ever again; I prefer my shoes nice and replaceable, thanks.
