Must-Try Product: Pevonia Peeling Cream

Every once in awhile I come across a new product that's truly phenomenal, and that immediately goes into heavy rotation. I've been using Pevonia Botanica's Enzymo-Spherides Peeling Cream ($43.50) twice a week for about a year now, and let me tell you: phenomenal.

It's basically just a deep exfoliating cream, but every single time I use it I see and feel an immediate difference in the texture of my skin. You apply it with wet fingers (avoiding the eye area), leave it on for two minutes (fast!) and rinse it off, and the pineapple and papaya-infused cream eliminates impurities, blackheads, and toxins, leaving your skin looking bright and feeling nice and smooth. Big, enthusiastic recommendation.

How To: Wear A Pink Leather Jacket

It's always a good day when you discover that your jacket matches your fake deer head.

But I'm not gonna lie: pink jackets always give me pause. I mean, I don't really want to look like a Pink Lady...but then, of course, I also sort of do (more in a Rizzo way than a pre-makeover Sandy way). For yesterday's shoot and meetings in the city, I decided to skip my usual skinny jeans in favor of  a simple black dress that I bought for our upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic but couldn't wait to wear, and graphic black-and-white accessories to keep the whole thing from going too girly.

Here's a more casual way to try out the look:

What To Wear: Boyfriend’s Graduation Ceremony

Q. Hey Jordan!

My boyfriend's medical school graduation is coming up in May in Miami and I'm so excited...but I have NO clue what to wear. Since I'm going as a guest of the family, I want to be respectful and of course look good in pictures, but I also know that Miami...in May...can make that tricky.

Scrapple: Oh, Just Try It

Kendrick and I talked about it, and we agree that the major problem with Scrapple is that it looks like this (before it's cooked).

The other problem: it's called "Scrapple", and the reason it's called Scrapple is that it's made from pork scraps left over from butchering (tongue, head, heart, liver, etc), pulverized, and held together with cornmeal. Since this is Stone Barns Scrapple, and therefore fancy, it also has things like pork cheeks (the very best part of the animal because it's super tender) mixed in, but still:

Scrapple.

Hey, I get it.

Weekend Snapshots

On Saturday, I decided to ignore the fact that a blizzard was on the way and dress up like I was headed to a picnic in the park.

I was heading into the city for a baby shower for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Thomasin, and for these kinds of events I usually like to wear pretty, floaty dresses...but, like I said: blizzard. And then I realized that I was about to board a train headed to Grand Central Station at 11AM on the day of the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and that the chances that I would be surrounded by more drunk teenagers than I'd ever seen before in my life was one hundred percent.

And so I decided to go for an outfit that made me feel totally elegant and chic and feminine, but that also involved pants. What I wore: a Gypsy05 sweater (previously seen here) paired with silk pajama-style pants from T.J. Maxx, CC Corso Como nude pumps, and a mint-green Botkier purse.

Not that silk pants and heels make a ton of sense in a blizzard either, but hey: we know I'm not someone who's particularly prone to weather-appropriate sartorial choices in general. Baby steps.

My Looks

This Is Today

In many ways it's the things that I wear on my "off" days (days when I don't have any shoots, meetings, or anyone to get dressed for besides my son, the mailman, and the cashier at the grocery store) that I have the most fun with.
