Oh My God

Alright, so far I've been handling the residing-in-the-country part of our new living situation...okay.

By which I mean...probably not very well. But I'm basically the Grand Slam Champion Of Handling It right now, because what just happened is pretty far over there in the Holy Sh*t realm.

This, as you know, is Lucy. I love her a whole bunch.

Baby Boy: Spring Fever

Spring shopping is fun generally, but even more fun when a baby is involved. And if you have a small person in residence, you have to go to The Children's Place immediately, because they're simultaneously running amazing sales on winter stuff (I scored some insulated mittens for $1.99) and stocking the most amazing spring clothing ever.

That is cute stuff, right there.

(Check out the mixing and matching we did this weekend.)

Sundance Styles: Vibrant Color

I've never been to Sundance (I almost went once, for this movie, but ended up not being able to make it happen), but...I mean, it sounds amazing. Snowboarding and movies!! Cozy boots instead of stilettos! That kind of thing.

I also always love browsing through the celebrity shots from places like EW's Sundance Lounge; everyone looks like a relaxed, happy, pared-down version of their red carpet selves: the hair is (or at least appears) natural and unfussy, the makeup is (or at least appears) barely-there, and pieces like knit sweaters and jeans take the place of mermaid gowns and tulle.

In other words: red carpet photos are fun and all, but Sundance is a great place to find some "real-world" celebrity style inspiration.

It's about time for me to head back to the salon for a pre-spring color boost, so let's talk the best vibrant shades spotted by the slopes:

Save On Your Cell Phone Bill…And Give Back

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about RG's partnership with Save.Love.Give to support their efforts to empower women through microfinance...while also saving you money by reducing your wireless waste.

Seriously, it is so easy. Within moments after plugging in my cell phone number, I discovered that I could save $24.99 every single month (that's a screenshot of my results, above).

Two Fabulous Day Trip From NYC Suggestions

Q. Hi Jordan,

This question seems to fit your "former" life perfectly.  My husband and I are in our late twenties and live in the upper west side with our dog. We JUST realized that we have the day off this Monday, and we've made no plans.  Do you have any ideas for trips or day trips that would work - without a car, and possibly with a dog in tow?

-Katherine

A. Oh, yes. Kendrick and I are professional day-trippers; when we were living in the city I knew that moving out to the 'burbs would be a good idea for us mostly because every chance we got found us hopping a train, headed in the direction of a small town with cute restaurants and good antiquing.

Lust Object

Truly great, candy-apple red leather gloves are a wintertime must. I used to own a pair, but they seem to have been sacrificed to the Moving Gods.

My online wanderings have turned up these Valentino gloves, but while they're extremely beautiful, they're also unforgivably expensive (especially given the fact that gloves are items that tend to go AWOL)...so click here for a more affordable alternative (that's lined with cashmere for extra warmth, to boot).

Warm Weather Ahoy: Wedges Under $100

Q. Jordan,

I’m looking for new wedges for a trip to Miami – I like a higher wedge, nothing too flat. Hoping to spend under $100 – help me find something!

A. What a coincidence!* I happen to be heading to South Beach in just a couple of weeks myself for a shoot, and am at this very moment dreaming of beaches and sandals and shorts and maybe, just maybe, something vaguely resembling a tan.
