...a tree went down outside our house, taking down all our power and phone lines, including our cells (we use a plug-in boost to get access, since our area has limited service). We're fine, and have plenty of candles, food and water, but if I'm slow with responding to emails and/or comments for the next couple of days...well, this is why.

In the spirit of Halloween, it was a horror show from start to finish.
For my final fall look put together using pieces I found at TJ Maxx, I went for an outfit that works for pretty much anything you'd like to do all weekend long.

A. I love Joe Fresh for adorable, affordable baby clothing - they sell it at the superstore in Canada, and I stock up every time I head up to visit my family (or beg my mom to bring me back a few pieces when she goes without me). Their denim and outerwear is especially fantastic - excellent quality, great cut, cute details.

Over the course of this weekend, I'm posting some of my favorite fall looks created using pieces I found at TJ Maxx. Which basically refers to about 80-90% of my wardrobe anyway...so this wasn't exactly a tough one.
This outfit, worn to lunch in town and then an afternoon playdate at a friend's place, is a couldn't-be-simpler combo of a cream cashmere sweater and bellbottoms, but what I think makes it interesting are 1) the neckline of the sweater (after I found the cream one, I went back the very next day and bought the exact same sweater in grey, because it's just that great of a piece...and was about 60% less than what you'd expect to pay for a designer cashmere sweater) and 2) that rainbow purse.
Such a find.
Here's what I'm wearing right this very minute, for a cozy morning at home: A TJ Maxx scarf that I picked up a couple of days ago after spotting that gorgeous floral print on the woman pictured above.
