Blogging About Baby

Terminator Baby from Jordan Reid on Vimeo.

I've received a few emails/comments from readers wondering whether I'll be blogging about my pregnancy.

Short answer: yes. Considering that I write about what I'm doing/thinking about on a daily basis, I'm not entirely certain how I'd avoid talking about something that's shaking up my life this much. But also: I don't want to avoid talking about it. To be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to feel comfortable writing about my pregnancy - it's very personal stuff, obviously - but I gave it a lot of thought, and...I do. These past three months have felt so weird to me, having such a big secret and not being as open as usual with you all. So I'll feel it out as I go, and keep doing what I've always done: writing about what feels right.

Favorite New Wallpaper / Graham & Brown

OK, I am looooving this new Graham & Brown wallpaper created to commemorate the upcoming Royal Wedding. (Picture it on one wall of an office, or in a small space like a water closet.) I'm not really a royal-watcher (for some serious royals love, head over to my friend Nadine's site), but I can't help but get psyched for the Big Event. Mostly because of the dress. But I also love all of the hullabaloo around this thing...

I mean...

Royal wallpaper?

Whatever, it's so fun.

Guest Etiquette / Hostess Gift Ideas

Q. Hi Jordan! I'm going to visit my boyfriend's mother for the first time, and would like to get her a thank-you gift. I was hoping you could do a post on gift ideas / the etiquette of giving your hostess a gift.

Thank You

I just got home from a sonogram appointment (all is well; heard the heartbeat and saw a 3-D image of the baby's face) and lunch with Lilit and turned on my computer...and was greeted by an outpouring of support and love the likes of which I've never experienced. Ever.

Chocolate Dessert Bowls

These are just too cute.

Basically all you do is blow up balloons and dip them in melted chocolate a few times (to get a thick coating), let them sit on wax paper until hardened, and then pop the balloons and use the chocolate shells to serve ice cream, candy...whatever.

Easy, right?

There's just one little problem: when it comes to balloon-blowing-up, I am about as competent as a can of tuna fish.
