Last night I headed out into the rain in one of my new favorite outfits, which you unfortunately can’t see particularly well here (I couldn’t get a good full-length photograph of it, for some reason): an Old Navy Kimono-Sleeve Sweater Tunic (purchased for this shoot) over leggings and a pair of black-and-white Steve Madden booties that I picked up at last year’s Clothing Swap, plus a ton of vintage jewelry and that amazing Vivienne Westwood purse (a hand-me-down from Mom).
Get the look:
Juicy Couture Planet Bag Charm ($52); Old Navy Kimono-Sleeve Sweater Tunic ($34.50; you can find it in pink in stores, but seemingly not online); Burlesque Bordello Patent Ankle Boots ($74); Free People Vintage Leather Boho Bag ($248)
First stop: the Tory Burch boutique in the Meatpacking District, where I checked out the new Resort Collection. Each attendee got to dress a model in items from the collection for a photo shoot – I’ll post the pictures once I get them!
In the meantime, allow me to introduce you to my new crush:
That would be a S’More On A Stick.
When I arrived, I didn’t see anyone I knew, so I did a bit of awkward milling-about-sorta-photographing-stuff-while-sipping-on-cider…and then I spotted the s’mores, and had to try one immediately. I went in for a small, ladylike bite. Didn’t work. I tried ripping off tiny, dainty pieces. Nope. New plan of action: to wander into a corner, face the wall, and jam the entire (quite large) thing into my mouth all at once. So I did just that…only to discover that the bite was so big that my mouth wouldn’t actually close completely around it. And then:
“Jordan!”
Sigh. So that was a graceful moment for me, as I’m sure you can imagine.
Anyway. Next stop: L’Oreal’s Youth Code launch, where I hung out with my buddy Kerri (from GalTime), learned about the line (which is based on 10 years of research in gene science and seeks to offer an affordable, over-the-counter alternative to more expensive products in the same vein), and ate these vaguely pornographic things:
I mean…right?
As of this morning, I’ve tried out two of the Youth Code products – the Day/Night Cream and the SPF 30 Day Moisturizer – and so far, so good. I haven’t always been great about sunscreen, but the Day Moisturizer is light enough that I’d use it regardless, and the Day/Night Moisturizer is a nice (and cheaper) alternative to my usual stuff. (The line will be available in the U.S. starting in January.)

The L’Oreal event generously provided us with car service, so I took full advantage and sped uptown, arriving just in time to eat sushi at Gajyumaru…
…and hug Christmas trees.
Whee.
