Yesterday I shot a fashion-related segment over at Meredith's offices in Midtown, and the day started swimmingly, with me getting one of my favorite spruce-ups ever courtesy of makeup artist Nikolai and hairstylist Anna.
Last night I headed over to Lord & Taylor for an event celebrating their renovation (the store has got a pretty old-school rep, and they're in the midst of a serious upgrade). I love these kinds of events mostly because I usually run into people who it makes me very happy to see, like The Gloss's Jennifer (pictured at left in one of the hot-pink hard hats we were required to wear during parts of the tour).
I also love these kinds of events because they frequently involve champagne and small, sugary things.

Every summer, the Intrepid (the aircraft carrier that we visited last year on Kendrick's birthday) holds a Free Summer Movie Series, and last night Kendrick, Carla and I headed over to check out Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Obviously. Because it was Raiders of the Lost Ark. On an aircraft carrier!
I've moaned before about the misery of living in the smack-dab center of a mind-blowingly enormous construction site, and now I desperately want one of these T train t-shirts, which the Transit Museum Store has optimistically put into circulation about 12,000 years before we can expect the line to be operational.
I have to say, 9th Avenue between 43rd and 46th Streets may just be my favorite stretch in all of Manhattan. Shall we take a walk?
