Beautiful, Sparkling Things
When a day comes to a close at Tiffany & Co. (as mine did last Thursday), it's always a good thing.

GPOY Monday Morning
You know that thing that dogs do when they emit a single, ear-shatteringly high pitched bark once ever 30 minutes, exactly at the moment when you're just about to fall back asleep?
Easy Guacamole
Last night, Kendrick and a couple of his buddies confirmed for me that this is the Best Guacamole Ever. A wholly unsolicited opinion...or at least one given after only very minimal hovering and "how-do-you-like-it"-ing.
Terror In The Afternoon
We spent the bulk of our weekend breaking in our new lawn chairs at the park.
Looks lovely and peaceful...right?
Right?
Bastille Day Brunching
Bastille Day was technically on Thursday, but hey: that's close enough to the weekend, and any excuse to eat crepes, right?
Check out BrunchCritic's list of NYC crepe spots here (including Norma's, Yorkville Creperie, and Yo In Yo Out Diner), or click here to make your own (still deciding which direction to head in myself). Other foodie ideas: cheeses at Artisanal, cocktails at Brasserie Beaumarchais, or French toast at The New French.
And there are Bastille Day celebrations at the Novotel in Times Square all day today; click here to learn more.

Two Of My Favorite Things
I mentioned the Nest Blue Garden candle in the Hostess Gifts post earlier this week, but I need to mention it again: it is AMAZING. Three seconds after you light it, your entire apartment smells like forget-me-nots and joy. Bonus: 100% of the net proceeds go to Autism Speaks.
The CoverGirl Liquiline Blast eye pencil is both wonderfully priced and wonderful. I'm super-picky about eyeliner, and drugstore brands are often too dry and tug on the lids...but this one rivals lots of the more expensive brands I've tried. It's a deep, rich black, and glides on beautifully. Excellent for smudging purposes (and I love a smudgy summer eye - try topping with a bit of Vaseline and going bare everywhere else).
