Last night, I met Lilit from TheGloss.com at the gloriously chic Raines Law Room.

Hm. Oh, dear. Apparently a site exists called “Who’s Dated Who,” and I’m on it (which is funny and weird in and of itself), along with two of my ex-boyfriends (Rob and Jason) and my husband. And my husband is losing in the “Top Romance” contest, which is making him grumpy. Can I enlist some help to fix this little problem?
P.S. Just discovered via RBNS, of all places, that Rob is having a baby! We haven’t always been on the best terms, but screw our history: it’s a baby! I’m absolutely thrilled for Rob and Kaitlin.

The other night, Melissa brought her new puppy, Zuki, over for a play-date with Lucy and Virgil.
Wedding Guest Books
Morgan and I were talking about her upcoming wedding over dinner, and we’re wondering: what are some interesting guest book options (she doesn’t want a traditional sign-your-name here book)?
From Freshome.com, 35 of the Most Unique & Creative Sofa Designs.
The extremely adorable girl pictured above, Rachel Trachtenburg of the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players (who opened for Kendrick’s solo show), has her own extremely adorable band, Supercute. They’re up for the cover of Deli Magazine, and as of now only need 60 votes to win (the contest ends in mere hours). I like this girl; let’s help her!

UPDATE: Supercute won! You guys are amazing - thank you :)
Just signed up for the Essentials of Fine Cooking course! By June 26, I’ll be a genius in the kitchen…just you wait and see. Some of the skills and techniques that the course covers:
- Marinades, compound butters and emulsified sauces
- Poaching, roasting, and sautéing fish
- Roasting and sautéing poultry
- Braising and sautéing white meats
- Stocks, sauces, and soups
- Grilling and stewing red meats
- Preparing shellfish in sauce, steamed, and baked
- Hygiene, safety, and methodology, including safe and effective knife work
And of course, I’ll be chronicling the entire journey right here.
Morgan and I celebrated a successful coffee table refurbish at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ. Her Bloody Mary included pickled green beans, which were recommended to me by a reader after I wrote this post last week, and which are not Morgan’s favorite (fine by me, as she just passed them in my direction).
We just had Chipotle wings and a couple of sides - baked beans with pulled pork and biscuits and gravy - and it was all fab. I still like the food at Southern Hospitality (Justin Timberlake’s BBQ joint, which is pretty much right across the street) a little better, but I prefer the more run-down, beer-y atmosphere at Brother Jimmy’s.
P.S. My camera is doing weird stuff lately - either blowing pictures out or turning them completely dark and blurry - so apologies. I did, however, just get a new camera…testing it out today…so hopefully things will take a turn for the better!
On Sunday afternoon, I received a bit of a frantic email from Morgan requesting that I come over and help her fix the coffee table she’d been refurbishing.
