This video is ludicrous.
Enjoy.
In the past few weeks, I've rediscovered my love for bright lipstick. For awhile there I was all dark-eyes-and-neutral-lips, but something about this look feels so much…easier. Which is sort of the opposite of how it looks - I can't tell you how many people have seen me wearing this lipstick and said something along the lines of "I could never wear that", but: very much not true. Bold lipstick seems tough to wear, but it's really just all about finding the right shade - you'll know it when you find it, because it will instantly wake up your face - and then going for it.
This pasta dish - which reminds me of Caprese Pasta, but is just a little more salty and spicy and grown-up tasting - is both awesome and awesomely summery. It's one of those dishes that takes thirty seconds and can probably be assembled from stuff you already have in your refrigerator (especially if you happen to be Italian and keep things like dry ricotta hanging around, in which case you probably don't need my advice on excellent pasta combinations), and that makes the perfect addition to a day at the beach, or a picnic, or a backyard BBQ.
Or the middle of the afternoon for no reason whatsoever, because it's just that good.
P.S. I take zero credit for this dish: Francesca's mother made it as part of our dinner last weekend; yet another example of Why I Love Visiting Francesca's Family.

My Instagram feed this weekend was filled with beach shot after beach shot, so apparently we weren't the only ones who saw an 80-degree day and immediately went looking for a patch of sand. Where we went for an early birthday celebration (my 33rd was on Monday): Francesca's family's place down by the Jersey shore for a day of stick-gathering, swinging, frozen Snickers bars, pasta salad as the sun went down…and a little JWoww, of course (because no trip to the shore is complete without her).

I can't get enough of them.
Here's the thing about pregnancy skin: it might be better than your "regular" skin, it might be worse...but in my experience one thing it is guaranteed to be is different than what you're used to. And so while now is not really the time to experiment with new creams and lotions (because lots of things - like salicylic acid, which is found in tons of anti-aging treatments - can't be used when you're expecting), what's worked for me is stripping everything down to the basics and upping the moisture (because you turn into a crazy water fiend when you have a baby on the way, and I figure that your skin must feel the same way).
I had a few readers ask me if I could find a less expensive alternative to my X ring. Da daaa!
Whether this is a "lust" or "less" situation totally depends on what you're looking for in terms of longevity. I wanted to invest in a piece that I thought was unique and striking, but still simple and classic enough to wear everyday, so I went big and picked up that EF Collection Ring (albeit at a lower price, since I found it at a privately owned shop that was willing to negotiate)...but obviously I don't do that all that often (or…ever). Inexpensive gold stacking rings are usually much more my style, but the problem with cheap rings is that they tend to turn silver. Or green. So if you're looking for something that'll last forever, the Express ring probably isn't it…but if all you want is some sparkle for the summer? Totally.
(Or go for the middle ground and pick up that Max & Chloe, which also comes in silver and rose gold - it's high-quality enough that it'll stick around for the long-run, but way less of a commitment.)

Ahhh.
Now this is a comfortable outfit.
