Accessible Decor: Colorful Country Bedroom

This is such a sweet, simple way to add a ton of personality to a small space. Just four key pieces - bedside lamp, throw pillows, quilt, and wall hanging - and you have a beautiful, feminine room (choose more subdued florals - think cream and robin's-egg blue - if you don't want to go quite so girly).

Weekend Snapshots

Kendrick spent much of this weekend assembling things, but I was a lazy lady. What can I say: the second book of The Hunger Games has gotten me, and it will not let go. So most of the things that were photo-worthy in my world for the past two days were food-related (not a bad thing).

I made 5-Minute Chocolate-Banana Cream pie...

“Oh My Goodness, Your Baby Is Massive!”

The other day we went in for our 20-week anatomy ultrasound...and I skipped ahead in school.

Let me explain:

Ever since our very first ultrasound at 6 weeks, the technicians have been all, "Huhhh...are you suuuuure about that date?" (Yes.) It seems that Indiana (his For Internet Purposes name) is something of an overachiever, and has been ahead of the curve, development-wise, since takeoff. But then at our last ultrasound, the technician didn't just sort of casually remark upon his size...she flat-out told us that he was verging on record-breakingly enormous (but not dangerously so, no worries). Like, over a pound at a point in time when he's supposed to be about 9 ounces (which is a big deal in Baby-Growth World).

NYC Dates Under $50

Q. Jordan:

First of all, congratulations on the pregnancy! As a long-time reader of your blog, I can't wait to see this adorable new person that you will bring into the world, and I just know that you'll be such a fun and loving mom.

I'm looking for some date-destination advice. My husband and I are long-time NYC residents and the recession has been hitting our recreational budget hard. We love the outdoors and would usually be planning kayaking and hiking adventures throughout the summer, but with the cost of gas lately, I just don't see that as being very prudent. I was wondering (and perhaps your other readers might be interested, too) if you and Kendrick have any local go-to spots when you're looking to spend some time together without spending more than $50.  The museum-and-a-cafe route hasn't been cutting it lately.

Thanks for all the entertainment, sincerity and recipes I've found on Ramshackleglam. :)
