Lamp Refurbish (Steps 1-3)
1. Locate a dilapidated old lamp desperately in need of some love (found items are preferable, but a thrift shop or parents’ basement will do).

In this segment, I find an old lamp on the street outside my apartment and refurbish it with the help of Stephen (yup, my downstairs neighbor and one of my best friends) from Cavern Home.

Mid-wardrobe overhaul. Stuff to keep out is on the bed, stuff to store away for a few months is on the floor, and stuff to get rid of is off to the right (btw, the first NYC area reader who emails me saying they’d like to grab this stuff - it’s not an unbelievable selection, but there’s a nice Calvin Klein sheath, some good basic t-shirts, and a chiffon DKNY blouse - before I take it to the Salvation Army is welcome to it…just email me at jordan@nonsociety.com).
After the concert, Mom and I headed to Serafina with some friends. Above, I’m with Greta and her stepmom (Greta’s family owns the restaurant, and her father very graciously gave me a tour of their kitchen. The pasta machines were awesome, and even though no one was actually making pasta at that moment, he told me that I can come back some time to check out how they do it).
Sigh…in dark restaurants it’s sometimes hard to tell when you’re wearing just a touch too much red lipstick. Ah well.
This 13-year-old girl, Sarina Zhang, from the pre-college division at Juilliard, first played the cello like a virtuoso, and then was invited back to play Chopin on the piano - a display of skill and emotional range that literally brought many in the room to tears. The moment she played the last note, everyone watching leapt to their feet to give her a standing ovation - and this was a room full of seasoned concertgoers. I’m trying to locate an audio of her playing - you have to hear it.

On Madison and 51st Street, on my way to the Juilliard Club event with Mom and Kendrick. I was a little down, and decided to stop into the Madison Avenue Express store to buy gold-studded leggings. That always makes a girl feel better.

I’m wearing Alice & Olivia (another loaner from Julia) to tonight’s Juilliard event, which we were invited to by Mom & Dad’s friends, whom I’m so looking forward to meeting.
When wearing very girly, detailed dresses like this one, I try to keep my jewelry as simple as possible. All I’m wearing are my rings (which I never take off) and a pair of black coral studs borrowed from Mom).
